Curated collection of antique, vintage and modern rugsDated 1859 Antique American Ingrain John Kachel Coverlet Textile
Size: 6 ft 6 in x 6 ft 5 in (1.98 m x 1.96 m)
Crafted in the Northeast U.S. circa 1859, a mid-19th-century American Ingrain coverlet by John Kachel showcases a symmetrical design of red leaves, blue rosettes, and star flowers on an ivory tan ground. Floral vases and rose sprays embellish the borders, while abrash color variations and medallion-like motifs add to its ornamental richness. Kachel's inscription notes its creation for Elizabeth Fry.
