Provenance: Collection of Late Donald Gant - Purchased at Skinner Auction Lot 102 in March, 2014
Originating from late 19th-century Anatolia, Turkey, this antique Kirsehir hallway runner exemplifies tribal influences with bold geometric patterns and vibrant vertical stripes in lively hues. Crafted with superior wool, its durability and rich colors reflect meticulous Anatolian craftsmanship. Historically, these elongated designs adorned nomadic tents, providing warmth and beauty while echoing the shape of the tent.
Lot 130 is in good condition. The pile is low and even with areas of minor re-piled in the rug. One end is re-woven 1/2" x 1/2" and needs securing. The other end is complete and original but it needs securing. Scattered Oxidized browns in the rug.There is no dryness in the foundation. This lot is clean and floor ready.
