Originating from Persia circa 1880, a fine antique Persian Heriz area rug showcases the region's masterful weaving tradition. Crafted from luxurious silk, an ivory background accentuates vibrant jewel tones. Intricate design draws inspiration from historical Persian vase motifs, exemplifying exceptional artistry. Unlike typical wool Heriz rugs, this piece boasts a finer weave and meticulous detail.
Lot # 111 is in good condition. The pile is high and low at spots but mostly low and even with scattered areas of more worn silk pile. There are very few scattered minor restored areas in the field. The two ends are original and hand secured. The sides are secured. There is a backing sewn to the rug for more protection. There is no dryness in the foundation. This rug is clean and floor ready.
