Description

Verner Panton’s Mira Spectrum series is one of the more recognizable mid-20th century textile patterns. Panton’s designs defined an era, so much so that the “Panton Era” defined the iconic look of 1960s modern design. This piece is a mid century modern piece, but it also complements recent style trends perfectly. One of the latest trends is using colors that evoke the natural world within the interior space. The rusts, browns, and earthy oranges of this textile reflect the natural world, but the piece has a streamlined design that is perfect for contemporary, minimalist interiors.

Verner Panton was educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen. He almost immediately landed a position at the Arne Jacobsen architectural firm. It was not long until Panton proved himself to be a leader in design thought and creativity. His designs were based on precision, form, and color. He used these elements to create pieces that have a three-dimensional effect, and that seem to move.

This piece is a square piece that makes it perfect for framing. It will make a dramatic statement as a large-scale art piece in a modern design. This piece uses vivid colors against a white background to emphasize contrast and form. This would make a beautiful addition to a white room that uses the colors of the textile as inspiration for the accessories.

The Mira Spectrum series was created in 1970. It uses waveforms as the central design. This piece is symmetrical on the vertical plane and has a balanced feel. Panton’s designs are highly collectible midcentury modern pieces. This one would complement a retro or retro-inspired room. One of the characteristics of Verner Panton pieces is that they were created as part of a set. His exhibitions were meant to envelop the visitor and engage all of the senses. This is a beautiful piece that represents the era and the artist.
