A highly distinctive nineteenth-century Bidjar rug animated by an engaging assortment of stylized animals and birds woven throughout its richly patterned field. Rather than serving merely as decoration, these charming figures bring movement, personality, and an almost narrative quality to the composition, inviting the viewer to discover new details continually. Their imaginative, slightly abstract rendering reflects the weaver’s individual artistic expression and makes the rug especially memorable.
