A colorful group of three antique Shahsavan khorjin components, originally used as parts of double-sided saddlebags during seasonal migration. Their richly varied patterns, tightly organized geometry, and vivid naturalistic colors demonstrate the ingenuity with which nomadic weavers transformed practical objects into highly expressive works of textile art. Surviving khorjin pieces are valued for their authenticity, cultural history, and individuality. Offered together, these three examples form an unusually decorative and educational collecting group.
