A monumental Spanish carpet whose exceptional scale gives it a commanding architectural presence. Spain possesses one of Europe’s longest and most culturally complex carpet traditions, shaped by centuries of interaction between Islamic, Christian, and Mediterranean decorative arts. Later Spanish workshops continued to reinterpret historic motifs for grand European and international interiors. At more than seventeen feet long and nearly fourteen feet wide, this carpet was conceived to organize and unify a substantial room.
