Seemingly elegantly understated at first, this Swedish kilim runner quickly becomes sophisticated to follow. Like many traditional runners, the viewer’s attention is meant to begin at the top of the Scandinavian rug before cascading down the surface’s length. Bright tangerine, mint green, ruby red, inky black and pale beige tones define the primary color palette, drawing the viewer’s attention to the points of contrast detailed throughout. Standing against the vertical borders is a series of wavy lines, which seem to zigzag down the length of the vintage rug and take the viewer on an erratic journey throughout.
