A linear abrash antique Mongolian rug from circa 1900, presenting the striking organic color variation and bold tribal character that distinguish Mongolian weavings from their Central Asian counterparts. The abrash — natural tonal shifts in the wool dye — lends this piece an authentically handcrafted presence and a living, breathing quality that no mechanically produced textile can replicate.

Lot #236 is in good condition. The pile is low, with scattered areas of wear. There are areas of oxidized browns, as well as scattered re-piled sections throughout the rug. The two ends and sides are hand secured. There is no dryness in the foundation. This rug is clean and floor ready.
