Rich, earthy, and deeply striking, this magnificent Indian Agra rug recalls the slowly darkening beauty of autumn. Rendered in rich coppery browns and pale ochre, this stunning piece features a bold, natural pattern that recalls a forest lush with crackling autumnal flora. Bearing motifs of the peony and the pomegranate, this magnificent piece begins with a neutral frame around a rich heart of lush florals over a field of rich chocolate brown. A second border patterned with a subtle and flawlessly symmetrical design suggestive of drifting leaves follows, before continuing the gracefully wild pattern in the heart. Beautiful, elegant, and utterly stunning, this lovely carpet is a sophisticated decorative statement.
Overall very good condition. Good pile throughout. Sides and ends all bound and should be re-stabilized. This carpet has been given a light chemical wash to soften the colors but this has not affected the structure of the carpet. A decorative carpet in soft colors and luminous sheen.
