Curated collection of antique, vintage and modern rugs

No Reserve - Chinese Art Deco Carpet, circa 1925–1935

Size: 9 ft 7 in x 7 ft 9 in (2.92 m x 2.36 m)

Provenance: Property of a Nevada private collector

An attractive Chinese Art Deco carpet combining traditional Chinese botanical imagery with the open spacing and modern color sensibility of the interwar period. The slightly compact room-size format makes it especially useful for a bedroom, library or central seating area.

Lot #474 is in fair condition. The pile is high and low, with areas of visible wear throughout the rug and areas where white cotton warps are showing. The ends are complete and need hand-securing. The sides need partial re-salvage. This rug would benefit from cleaning to achieve a fresher and more attractive appearance.
