A narrow red field gives this Kuba runner a bright, energetic backbone, with stacked octagonal medallions, small animals, rosettes and angular tribal devices worked into the length of the design. The ivory main border is especially important: its serrated diamond pattern creates a crisp frame around the darker vine borders and makes the runner feel both busy and sharply organized.
