Description
Verner Panton‘s penchant for using the elements of light and form, shape and shadow is well displayed in this concentric textile design. Much of his work involved transitioning the watcher from the mundane world into flights of fantasy. Panton liked transformation and used it heavily in his modern work of interior design. In this image the three dimensional blend of shape and forms from light to dark leads the eye to the central point in a circle of dark brown. The mind is invited to wonder is the viewer looking down a corridor of shape and color or up instead? Much like another of Panton’s textile work of circles, this close up display uses neutral colors that blend well while remaining distinctly interesting to the viewer.
