This vintage round Scandinavian rug is the work of Corneille — Guillaume Beverloo — a founding member of the celebrated post-war CoBrA movement and one of the most expressive and influential European artists of the mid-20th century. Titled "Elegie d'un été" (Elegy of a Summer), the piece reflects Corneille's characteristic dramatic use of color and emotionally charged imagery, combining the surreal qualities and passionate expressionism that defined CoBrA with a somber theme of loss and reflection. An important piece of mid-century collectible artwork, it is as essential for the art collector as it is for the design-forward interior decorator.
