Executed in a language of symbols and unspoken signs, this exceptional mid-century modern vintage Moroccan rug captures a phenomenal array of repeated symbols and geometric glyph. These archaic symbols were full of meaning to the cultural groups who created these textural works of art. Seemingly abstract, this sophisticated vintage Moroccan rug, from the mid 20th century, is based on a world of hidden meanings and advanced design principles that are very different from the styles cultivated in the West. The plush ivory field features rows of staggered protection symbols and ancient duality motifs that appear throughout Moroccan rugs and ancient artifacts. This exceptional mid-century rug illustrates the concept of infinite rapport, which can be seen in the border-less ends where the patterned rows could extend to infinity.
