This specific vintage flat woven rug is an excellent example of Scandinavian design.
The tradition of using geometric designs in Scandinavian goes back several centuries. The influence of designers of mid-20th century helped the form to evolve into the flat weave designs that are just as popular today as they ever were.
This specific vintage Scandinavian Kilim rug features a mix of warm and cool colors. Set against a soft neutral colored background, this Swedish kilim evokes a feeling of peace and tranquility as well warmth and innocence. Its tones are muted and the design is interwoven in a way that creates a free flowing feeling of serenity.
The geometry of this vintage mid century rug utilizes the square and rectangle as the basis for the overall design. The inner field boasts a labyrinth like motif that draws the eye inward to the center of the two colorful square designs.
