A richly patterned Persian Verneh flatweave animated by repeated stylized animals, birds, and geometric devices across a deep red field. Verneh textiles occupy a distinctive position between kilim and soumak weaving, producing a more textured surface than ordinary flatweaves. The abundance of animal imagery gives this piece a charming narrative quality and reflects the pastoral world of its tribal weaver. Compact, colorful, and filled with individual character, it is equally compelling as floor art or a wall-mounted textile.
