No Reserve - Rare Matched Pair of Antique Isfahan Rugs, Persia, circa 1900

Provenance: Collection of a late German collector Aghajan Nassimi

A rare matched pair of antique Isfahan rugs displaying the refined drawing and accomplished workshop production associated with Persia’s capital around the turn of the twentieth century. Pairs are considerably scarcer than individual rugs because both pieces had to remain together through generations of ownership and use. Their corresponding designs and dimensions make them especially effective on opposite sides of a room, beneath paired tables, or in adjoining spaces that require visual continuity. This piece combines urban Persian artistry, practical dimensions, and a matched presentation, making it one of the more distinctive offerings in the auction.

Lot #448 includes two pieces, both in good condition. The pile on both pieces is complete and even, with areas of visible wear, mostly in the brown areas. Both rugs have minor pile loss at one end, and both ends of each rug need hand securing. The sides are securely finished. There is no dryness in the foundation.

Both pieces are clean.
