Provenance: Inventory of the late Albert Karmely

Handwoven in late 19th-century Persia, the Persian Farahan Sarouk rug features a distinctive allover design of flame palmettes and Harshang flowers, diverging from the traditional medallion style. Its elegant yet tribal drawing presents a harmonious color palette: soft apricot tones contrast with deep sage green, reversed in the border's arabesque vine scroll on a pale apricot background.
