Provenance: Collection of late notable London and New York dealer

A generously proportioned Amritsar carpet combining substantial room size with the broad floral drawing and refined decorative character associated with northern Indian workshops. At more than thirteen feet wide, the carpet can furnish a large room without appearing narrow or visually undersized. Its broad field allows furniture to be placed comfortably while preserving the principal elements of the composition.
