An important monumental Tabriz carpet associated with the celebrated Haji Jalili weaving tradition. Haji Jalili and related Tabriz workshops became renowned during the late nineteenth century for refined drawing, sophisticated compositions, and restrained, harmonious color. At more than sixteen feet long, the carpet combines impressive architectural scale with the disciplined execution of an accomplished urban workshop. Its softened antique palette allows the complex ornament to remain elegant rather than overwhelming. Offered without reserve, this is one of the principal Persian carpets in the sale and a compelling choice for an important dining room, living room, gallery, or reception space.
