Provenance: Collection of a late German collector Aghajan Nassimi
A saturated red field immediately gives this vintage Kashan its visual power. The ornate central medallion and pendant forms are finely drawn, but the open red ground keeps the composition from feeling crowded. Darker borders and intricate floral scrollwork add a classical Persian frame around a confident, decorative center.
Condition
Lot # 475 is in good condition. The pile is full and even with no visible signs of wear or tear. The two ends are complete and hand-secured. The sides are secured. There is no dryness in the foundation. This rug is clean and ready for the floor. This rug is from the 1930's or early 1940's
