Provenance: Inventory of the late Albert Karmely
Crafted in China around 1900, this antique rug showcases a minimalist design adorned with small floral sprays. Framed by a trellis of four rods, each accented with decorative balls and entwined with a leafy vine, the piece reflects the influence of the English Arts and Crafts Movement, suggesting it was possibly produced for Western export.
Lot # 195 is in good condition. The pile is full and even. The two ends are original and secured. The sides are secured. There is no dryness in the foundation. This rug needs a cleaning for a fresh and clean look.
