A majestic design of spiraling vines and palmettes sprawls grandly across the deep blue field of this sumptuous antique Khorassan rug from Persia. The main spiraling vines, jewel-like in appearance, in this finely woven antique rug, emanate in vertical columns from a vase at the base of the composition. A much more finely scaled and proportioned vine scroll border frames the field, nicely balancing to its richness and monumentality.

Lot # 5013 is in good condition overall. The pile is generally low and even with minor areas that show more wear more than others. The two ends are complete and secured. The two sides are original and secured. There are few scattered areas in the rug that have been replied and done very professionally. There is no dryness or cracking in the foundation.
