With its regal crimson field and stylized floral tracery, this expansive Indian Agra carpet evokes the grandeur of Mughal-inspired aesthetics. The interplay of palmettes and curling tendrils lends movement to the composition, while the golden border adds a luminous counterpoint to the saturated ground. A distinguished statement in both proportion and craftsmanship.

Lot # 445 is in a fair to good condition. The pile is mostly full and even with minor tear spots in the field that have to be re-sewn. The border is re-woven in various areas and it is done professionally and masterfully. All sides are hand secured. This rug is clean.
