This antique Turkish Oushak rug features an elegant design that is inspired by Northwest Persian garden carpets.
One of the most eye catching features of this beautiful green colored Turkish rug is the shape, which is a hallway runner rug size. The long, thin shape of this antique Oriental carpet is enhanced by the pattern as well as the border. The presence of a lighter colored border elongates the shape of this green Oushak rug, enhanced by the floral designs within that border. There are two other stripes within the border, a darker warm toned outside border and a lighter creamy colored inside border. These add more dynamic elements to the border and draw the eye toward the striking inner designs.
The main field of the green Oushak rug is on a slightly darker ground and features lighter colored design elements that are inspired by nature. There are are small flowers as well as leaves and vines present, creating a beautiful and eye catching pattern. The shapes of the designs on the inside naturally draw one’s attention along the rug’s length, as they seem to be almost moving along the length of the antique Turkish green Oushak rug runner.
