Tribal Gallery Size Antique Persian Malayer Rug, Country of Origin: Persia, Circa Date: 1900 – This antique Persian rug is a long banner with an almost black central field that draws the eye. Created in the negative space of the darkness, an assortment of round flowers drifts, accented by tribal designs. A light-colored square rests in the middle, its honey-toned and white decorations set apart from the backdrop by a stylized floral border. The pointed ends of the blue field of this antique tribal Persian Malayer rug, are defined by a light brown hue, delineated with a stair-step edging and brimming with more angular patterning that matches the tan figures within the stark area. A rectangular border surrounds the banner, its twining vine a perfect match for the edging along the interior square. Other bands rest against the first, each containing stylized floral components in this beautiful antique rug.
