Description
This antique Romanian rug features three prominent verdant displays centered over a rich, chocolate brown field. The centerpiece showcases a romantic couple poised within a harvest setting, gazing at each other from beyond the fence, a basket brimming with fresh fruits or vegetables resting at her feet. The man is seemingly bent over the top of the fence and is perhaps handing his love a freshly picked rose.
This romantic scene is flanked by mirrored bouquets, with lush red blossoms, amid perfectly shaded green leaves, surrounded by a plethora of white blooms like baby’s breath. Orange and pink buds add extra contrast to the detailed designs of this beautiful antique Romanian Bessarabian Kilim rug. A thick border with stark shading matching the style of the central decorations wraps around the flat weave rug, blooming with red and white pansies, roses and lilies.
