Description
This superb all over design antique Persian Tabriz carpet features a timeless pattern of asymmetric stripes drawn in the refined curvilinear patterns that make the antique Persian carpets so sought after. Tribal-influenced stripes with lush floral decorations traverse the field in precise asymmetric groupings. Soft gray guardbands flank alternating rows of crisp white stripes and burgundy bands that are decorated with undulating vines and regal contrasting colors. Traditionally associated with tribal rugs from the north and south, this classical pattern takes on a luxurious, stately appearance. Humble border motifs are gracefully transformed into a glamorous, color-rich repeating pattern with strong jewel-tone accents. The delightful striated field is surrounded by gorgeous gilt-tone botehs set over a dark midnight blue ground. Minute eye symbols punctuate this elaborate pattern, which retains tribal subtleties in the most delightful manner.
Overall very good to excellent condition. Good full pile throughout. Sides rebound; ends complete and stabilized. Rug is clean and floor ready.
