Description
True to the style of so many traditional Sultanabad rugs, this masterpiece relies on flowing movements and minimal colors to create gentle contrast between the various points of contact. Light ivory stands as the unifying backdrop to shades of peach, beige and gold. The single thick border of this Persian rug is surrounded on both sides by thinner outlines, their vibrant depths in direct contrast with the lighter, mellower shades within. Flowing vines and stems define the foreground of the masterpiece, ultimately culminating at the heart of the antique rug, where the flowers take true form within the elegant shape of each diamond found in a thick network.
