This antique Persian rug, a beautiful antique Sultanabad rug, features a central ivory field with a lattice-like pattern in orange and black. The light tone of the background is complemented by the warm colors forming the decoration, which twists apart and together organically across the piece. The darker lines are surrounded by a profusion of flowers in many shapes, created with an angular, stylized theme. The of this antique rug design is symmetrical about the long axis, each element balanced on the opposite side. A set of several borders edges this area, featuring three small bands on the interior that match a trio on the outer side, surrounding a wide strip of orange with geometric blossoms.
