A complex Herati design in shades of tan and burgundy repeats in precise allover symmetry across the rich cocoa ground of this lovely antique Tabriz. Woven in one of the proudest and most accomplished carpet weaving conditions anywhere in the world, this stately and majestic Persian carpet espouses many of the characteristics and qualities of antique rugs that are considered to be most desirable by admirers and collectors of such pieces. A rug that is every bit as attractive today as it was upon its initial weaving over one hundred years ago. Overall good condition. Uneven pile with areas of full pile and lower pile scattered. Both sides and ends complete and original. Minor areas of fading where brown field is slightly lighter in color. Carpet has been given a light chemical wash to soften the colors but this has not affected the structure of the carpet. Carpet is clean and floor ready..
