In the past, tiger pelts were often found in the homes of the wealthy and important public places. Since the tiger is now a protected animal, tiger rugs began to take their place. This one was created in the 1920s and depicts a yellow tiger, an animal of special significance in Chinese lore.

Lot # 363 is in good condition. The pile is full and mostly even with scattered areas of minor wear. The two ends are complete and secured. The sides are complete and secured. There is no dryness in the foundation. This rug is clean and floor ready.
