A colorful antique Chinese Art Deco floral rug from circa 1920 exemplifies the fusion of traditional Chinese aesthetics with the bold Art Deco movement. Originating in China, it features a harmonious blend of floral and geometric motifs on a tranquil green and beige field. The border is adorned with auspicious Chinese seals and calligraphic emblems symbolizing happiness (å–œ), longevity (壽), prosperity (禄), and good fortune (福), common blessings in early 20th-century decorative arts. The larger inscription reads “監製豐盛宮廷織造” (Supervised manufacture - woven in the Imperial Court / Prosperous Workshop), a traditional mark evoking quality and prestige rather than literal imperial origin.

Lot # 197 is in a very good condition. The pile is full and even with no wear or tear signs visible. The two ends are original and hand secured. The sides are secured.
