A sharply drawn prayer niche gives this antique Caucasian Shirvan rug its architectural shape. Inside the field, rows of small diamond motifs create a precise, almost jewel-like pattern, framed by several narrow borders in red, blue, ivory, and dark brown. The design feels compact and disciplined, with very little empty space. Its beauty comes from the tension between the large mihrab form and the finely packed geometric detail inside it.

Lot # 468 is in good condition. The pile is low and even. There are scattered oxidized browns in the rug. The two ends are complete and hand secured. The sides are hand secured. There is no dryness in the foundation. This piece is clean and floor ready.
