The strength of this Karabagh rug comes from its dramatic hooked medallion design and saturated red, blue, ivory, and green palette. Large shield-like forms stretch across the field, while curling tribal details soften the geometry without losing its force. The Kasim-Ushag attribution is visually plausible, especially in the bold scale and assertive Caucasian drawing, but the rug’s appeal is really in its color, energy, and commanding village character.

Lot #429 is in good condition. The pile is mostly full and even throughout. Both ends are original and securely finished with original kilim at one end. The sides are also secured. There are no visible wear or tear signs in the piece. There is no dryness in the foundation. The rug is clean and floor ready.
